Hebrew News – Trump’s Defense Team Continues to Get Involved: Rudy Giuliani Suffers $ 1.3 Billion from Dominion

Closing of accounts continues: ‘Dominion’ sues Rudy Giuliani and demands $ 1.3 billion

A few weeks after the election equipment company announced the filing of a lawsuit against Sydney Powell, this morning the company announced a similar move against another lawyer who promoted Trump’s claims. “There must be responsibility for the disinformation campaign against Dominion and its systems,” the company said.

Dominion Voting Systems continues to wage a legal battle against former President Trump’s senior advisers, and earlier today (Monday) it was announced that the major election equipment company has filed a defamation suit against Rudy Giuliani, former New York mayor and Trump’s personal lawyer.

As a reminder, Dominion provided equipment for the 2020 election for most U.S. states, and immediately after Joe Biden was declared the winner the company found itself the victim of many conspiracy theories that the company was behind election fraud.

The company is now demanding $ 1.3 billion in compensation from Giuliani, claiming that his actions tarnished the company’s name: “There must be responsibility for the misinformation campaign against Dominion and its systems,” explained Tom Claire, a lawyer representing the company, who added that Giuliani “converted “Unprecedented damage that caused the company to be radioactive, which led to economic damage.”

In fact, this is the second lawsuit filed by Dominion against former president’s campaign executives, after a lawsuit was filed earlier this month against Sydney Powell, another lawyer in Trump’s campaign. Similar to the lawsuit against the former mayor, the one filed against Powell requires the company to accept $ 1.3 billion in compensation.

“Defendant Powell falsely alleged that Dominion committed an election fraud, that Dominion was created in Venezuela to commit election fraud for Hugo Chavez and that Dominion bribed the authorities in Georgia,” the previous lawsuit said. The company further claimed that Powell’s statements caused the company to spend millions of dollars on employee security and carry out ‘damage control’ following its defamation.

The decision to sue Giuliani and Powell comes after Dominion chiefs sent a letter of permanent cessation to several right-wing networks and news sites affiliated with the American right, including Fox News, OAN and Newsmax that promoted the former president’s conspiracy theories. As a result, those networks were forced to admit that they had no evidence or backing evidence against the Dominion.

Elections and election security experts in the United States have determined that last year’s election campaign was conducted fairly fairly. Moreover, the federal government called the election “the safest and most secure in American history.” The Attorney General during the Trump administration, William Barr, also reiterated that the election was held in a perfectly fair manner.

But that of course did not stop Trump and his people from repeatedly dispelling these allegations to explain his election defeat. Dominion, which provided equipment for elections in 28 countries, found itself the central target of those allegations.

In 107 pages of lawsuit filed today in federal court in the United States capital, Dominion cited at least 50 different cases in which Giuliani said false things against the company. For example, during a court hearing in Pennsylvania, Giuliani claimed the campaign did not allege election fraud or forgery, but a few days later he referred to Dominion as a “company that specializes in election fraud” during an interview he gave to a television network.

The lawsuit further alleges that Giuliani had an economic motive for continuing to lie, as he demanded a $ 20,000-a-day payment to represent Trump in an attempt to overturn the election results.
