At around 22:00 (Thursday), a 57-year-old snake catcher caught a snake in Avihayil but was bitten by the snake, apparently a viper, and then continued his journey with the intention of arriving independently for medical treatment at the Niado Hospital emergency room. However, he lost consciousness during the trip and collided with his vehicle in a tree. Medical teams provided primary medical care and evacuated the wounded to Niado Hospital in a critical and unstable condition.

MDA Sharon staff who were called to the accident reported that the catcher was apparently slightly injured in the accident but his condition was difficult following the snake bite.

MDA paramedic Avir Moyal: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the wounded man lying in a vague consciousness near the vehicle after colliding with a tree. We were told he had been bitten by a snake and when he got into the car and started driving he lost consciousness and collided with a tree. We immediately started medical treatment, put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was serious and unstable. “

Israel Osdon, a paramedic from the Rescue Union, said: “This is a snake catcher who, according to his family, lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree after being bitten by a snake in his hand. After initial assistance at the scene, he was taken to the hospital.”
