HBO Max updates ‘Close Enough,’ ordering 3 new adult animated series

February 10 (UPI) – HBO Max has updated the animated sitcom Close enough and ordered three new adult animated series.

The streaming service said in a press release Wednesday that it has been updated Close enough for two more seasons. Season 2 appears for February 25th.

Close enough created by JG Quintel, who will speak Joshua “Josh” Singleton on the show. The series follows Josh and Emily (Gabrielle Walsh), a couple who live with their daughter and their separated friends in a duplex in Los Angeles.

Close enough first appearing in July and also featuring the voices of Jessica DiCicco, Jason Mantzoukas, Kimiko Glenn, Danielle Brooks and James Adomian. HBO Max shared a trailer for Season 2 that shows Josh and Emily dealing with children’s birthday parties.

HBO Max ordered two seasons of Clone High, a remake of the Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence series. The show was originally broadcast for one season from 2002 to 2003 on MTV.

HBO Max is also developing Velma, a humorous origin story for the Scooby-Doo character Velma Dinkley. Mindy Kaling gives Velma a voice and the producer does the show.

In addition, HBO ordered Max Shot on Mars, a five-minute future workplace-based comedy. Pete Davidson will hear the main character.

“We are proud to bring together this unique group of series from a wide range of diverse creators who will be a stopover destination for animation lovers everywhere,” she said.

Harley Quinn, The Prince and The Boondocks among the other adult animated series available for streaming on HBO Max.
