Almost a year since the onset of Covid-19 pandemic disease has caused and postponed events worldwide, and as the pandemic enters 2021, recorded events, including fashion shows, largely digitalized and in some cases completely off-putting.
However, the show needs to go on, and the next season of men and haute couture shows is set to take place in Paris later this month.
After a season of high-profile women’s shows in September and France still in tight quarantine, this month’s shows are likely to be under the same limitation. However, the events will still take place, the organizers confirmed.
According to WWD, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (the organization that runs the events) has told brands that the shows can go ahead, but without guests.
“The guidance from the Paris police headquarters states that there should be no public presence, whether for fashion shows or any other event,” said Pascal Morand, executive president of Fédération de la Haute. Couture et de la Mode, to be published.
Filming is still allowed, so you can expect more live streams and social premieres, made by several brands last season.
While there has been no word on how the Fall / Winter 2021 women’s fashion shows will open, they are still expected to take place in February and March and are likely to face similar restrictions.
