Has Israel found a cure for Corona?

Preliminary results for an experimental drug declared effective over 90% in initial trials in Ichilov. The Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv has successfully completed Phase A research in a research project on this new drug, which provides very encouraging responses.

The drug has helped a number of moderate to severe cobid patients recover quickly from the disease. The hospital announced that the substance, Prof. Nadir Arber’s EXO-CD24, was given to 30 patients with moderate or severe condition, and all 30 recovered, 29 of them within 3-5 days.

The drug fights the cytokine storm, a life-threatening immune response, and is believed to be responsible for most of the deaths associated with the disease. The drug uses exosomes, tiny bubble-like particles that carry substances between cells, to transfer a protein called CD24 to the lungs.

“This protein – explained Sheeran Shapira from Arber’s lab to the press – is found on the cells and has a known and important role in regulating the immune system, helping to calm the system and curb the storm.”

Arber explained that the product is inhaled once a day for a few minutes, for five days, and reaches the lungs directly. In this way, unlike other preparations, the Israeli cocktail is administered locally and does not involve side effects, also because it does not work on a wide range. The drug will now go through additional testing stages, but doctors are talking about a possible turning point in the fight against Cubid-19.

For the director of the Ichilov Research Center, Roni Gamzo, who was also the government corona projector, says the research is “advanced and sophisticated and can save corona virus patients. Phase A results are excellent and give us confidence in the method. Researchers study in our lab for many years.”
