Guards: Post Malone at the head of a Pokemon Day virtual concert

February 27 was Pokemon Day, marking the 25th anniversary of the release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, and rapper Post Malone is at the head of a prestigious concert to mark the anniversary. It is rooted above and we got a quick preview Thursday, with Malone cover of the 90s classic Hootie and the Blowfish ‘Only Wanna Be With You.

If YouTube isn’t your first choice of virtual concert venue, the gig will be broadcast live on Twitch as well. The official Pokémon site will also show the gig. Katy Perry joins another “P25” music event.

The Pokemon Company also appeared some major new games for Nintendo Switch in live streams Friday: Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and pearl glow coming out later this year, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus arriving early in 2022. New Pokemon Snap, coming out April 30, also got a new trailer.
