Pep Guardiola says Manchester City ‘s upcoming games against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester United and Southampton represent a critical point in the season.
City host the Wolves on Tuesday, March 2, with United and the Saints to follow at the Etihad Stadium in an eight-day span that Guardiola believes will be crucial in our quest to be crowned champions of the Premier League.

The Catalan says victory in all three games would see his side take a big step forward, but, with City on the verge of breaking a world record for consecutive victories, he admits that his team is now bigger than usual.
“Yeah, but we want to beat them,” he said when asked if teams would get extra encouragement with City on the edge of another table.
“It simply came to our notice then. We know how important these eight days are with Wolves, United and Southampton. If we can do what we want to do, we will take an amazing step.
“I want to see the team climb. I have said many times recently that we see what we have done and reflect on that and keep going three more points rather than looking at what we have done. so far.”
Guardiola did not raise any concerns about a new injury before Wolves visited the Etihad.
Nathan Ake is the only player to miss out as he continues to have a setback muscle problem for the past two months.
City won 3-1 at Molineux on the opening day of our campaign, but they beat home and away side Nuno Espirito Santo ‘s side last season and Guardiola expects his players to be ready to win as we did against West Ham at the weekend.
“Everyone is fine,” he said. With the exception of Nathan, the rest of the players are fine.
“The history against them shows us how difficult it has been and will be tomorrow.
“We know for sure what kind of game we have to play and be so intense but at the same time be calm because they are playing with ambition and patience to punish you.
“We have to be so smart because the last few years have been difficult, with the quality of the players they have. This year this will be special. “
