Grigor Dimitrov made a strong start to the season when he reached the sixth semi-final of a Grand Slam at the Australian Open, and has now secured a star practice partner to ensure he stays to move.
Dimitrov and former WTA World No. 1 hit. 1 Serena Williams in court together on Sunday and posted videos of their ‘casual hit’ on social media.
“My user partner is better than yours,” Dimitrov boasted on Instagram. He added a ‘goat’ emoji to the caption in reference to the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ across the web.
Dimitrov’s choice of partner would make any player jealous – tennis myths were introduced. There was even a bit of envy or big brother from the envy of WTA Tour, Venus Williams, who went to social media asking why she was left out of the sport.
“Omg are you guys hitting now? Where’s my invitation ??” Venus asked Dimitrov on Instagram.
This is not the first time former World Dimitrov has hit the practice court with Serena. Back in 2019, Dimitrov revealed that they are regular hitting partners after a practice session at the Australian Open.

“It’s good to be honest. You can always learn a little bit from anyone on the other side of the web, ”Dimitrov told the media at the time. “Often we really hit, it just so happened that everyone would be there that day.”
Bulgaria will not be short of user partners as it prepares for its next ATP Tour event at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentedado HSBC. Currently at No. 17 in the FedEx ATP Rankings, Dimitrov has had a taste of previous Acapulco success with a run to the 2014 title and reached the semi-finals last year.
