Google’s cloud game service giant Stadia is testing touchscreen controls on Android, and they may soon release a ” touchscreen ” feature.
9to5Google has analyzed the latest Stadia news on Android and found several references to the “direct touch” feature. Once enabled, direct communication with Stadia users will allow you to tap, swipe, and pin elements in games, or continue using a Bluetooth controller or USB.
However, it is not yet clear which games will support direct touch, although Stadia currently has very little support for touchscreen controls in games like Monopoly that allow users to build touch mode on it. This new direct touch feature was only found in the Android version of Stadia, and will be rolled back to the web version for iOS, too.
Google has not officially defined a direct link for Stadia.
Microsoft’s xCloud game streaming service has implemented several touch controls over more than 20 games, allowing Xbox players to enjoy games without a controller.
Google also seems to be preparing Android TV support for Stadia. 9to5Google noted that there are special references on Android TV in this latest Stadia app update. Stadia launched on Chromecast Ultra devices, but support for Android TV has been lacking since Stadia launched more than a year ago.
