Google has announced the addition of a new video editor to the company’s popular Google Photos app, joining the existing photo editor. In addition to the photo editor has announced the activation of advanced photo editing options that were hitherto available only on Pixel devices also for users on other devices, but only for paid Google One subscribers.

The Google Photos service and its app were launched during 2015 and over the years has become one of the most popular storage and photo editing services in the world especially thanks to the unlimited storage model of clouds in the cloud, an option that will disappear on June 21st. From 2015 until today, Google has released quite a few updates to the app, including the built-in image editor, which is now joined by a video editor.

Google’s new built-in video editor will allow users over 30 different editing options for their video files, including video cropping, video stabilization, adding filters, changing brightness and contrast, and more, with the new video editor available on iOS devices today and later on Android devices.

The most interesting information in the new update concerns the addition of new photo editing options that were hitherto only available to users of the company’s Pixel devices, and will now also be available to Google One subscribers, Google’s storage and backup service. While Google does not plan to remove existing features, Google One users will have access to machine-based editing options such as “Portrait Light” which allows you to select a “light” point and illuminate the face of the image depending on the location of the point in the photo.

In addition, there will also be options such as Color Pop, which highlights the user in the image by turning the background into black and white and leaving the user colored, this is currently available to all users. The feature relies on in-depth information in images from new devices. However, Google One users will now be able to run the new option even on images without in-depth information thanks to Google’s machine learning along with additional editing options that were hitherto available to Pixel users, alongside additional editing options.

While the video editor is a welcome addition to the app, quite a few users are likely to resent Google’s new “change” to the built-in image editor that adds dedicated features only to paid Google One users, though the features currently available to all app users Will continue to be available later on, and only additional tools will be launched for paid package users.
