Maccabi Rishon Lezion on the way to significant strengthening ahead of the second half of the season: Guy Goodes confirmed in an interview with the “Open Field” program that the veteran guard is expected to join the team that reached the Cup final last weekend.

“I believe it will close in the next day or two,” Goodes said. “Jeremy is a proven player who I’m sure will add a lot to us. It will take him some time to get in shape but he will definitely help us.”

If and when Fargo is signed, he will not replace one of the existing guards – Isaiah Taylor or Trey Lewis – but as a fifth foreigner, with the team expected to rotate from game to game.

Rishon Lezion will be Fargo’s fourth stop in Israel, after previously playing for Gilboa / Galil, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem, in the media he finished the previous season – with a 32-point presentation in the semifinals against the same Maccabi Rishon Lezion.

The 34-year-old Fargo, who has not actually played since the end of the previous season, will join Goodes, who coached him in the 2014/15 season at Maccabi Tel Aviv. He holds 4 Israeli championships, one with Gilboa / Galil and 3 with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He is of course expected to participate in the cup final against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
