Gone is the baseball legend Tommy LaSorda

But in the United States. Legendary baseball coach Tommy LaSorda, who led the Los Angeles Dodgers to two World Series wins (1981 and 1988), has died at the age of 93.

The Dodgers reported that Lassorda had a heart attack, but an intensive care unit that was called to the scene and performed resuscitation on him failed in its efforts and he was declared dead on his way to the hospital.

Only three days ago, Asurda returned home after being hospitalized for about two months due to heart problems, from which he had already suffered 25 years ago.

LaSorda was in the No. 6 World Series game last October and saw his Dodgers win the championship after a win over Tampa Bay. The club’s first championship since 1988.

For the past 14 years he has served as a special advisor to owner and chairman Mark Walter and has regularly attended games, where he has been with Walter.

“He was an amazing ambassador for the club and for the industry, a mentor to players and coaches. He always had time to sign and tell all the fans and he was a good friend,” Walter said. “I will miss him very much.”

In 1997 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and three years later, in Sydney 2000, led the U.S. team to Olympic Olympic gold. His balance sheet as an MLB coach was 1,439: 1,599.
