Israel national team coach Willy Rotensteiner will announce this morning (Thursday) the squad for the games against Denmark, Scotland and Moldova in the opening of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Austrian, who met yesterday with his new team at the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv, where the team will be staying, is pretty close on the 11th for the first game (Thursday against Denmark), except for one position in the link between Eyal Golsa and captain Beavers Natcho.
Rotensteiner decided that the captain would not open in all three of the next games as part of the conclusions drawn from the previous campaign. Ophir Marciano will stand between the beams in front of the Danes, Eli Desa, San Menachem, Eitan Tibi, Nir Bitton and Hatem Abdelhamid will play in defense. The place of Dor Peretz and Manor Solomon in a guaranteed link and separately will open in the first game Mons Dabour and Eran Zehavi. In the second game against Scotland Sean Weissman will open alongside PSV star Eindhoven.
As reported on the sports channel, Rotensteiner will appoint a replacement captain after the retirement of Sharan Yeni from the national uniform and Dor Peretz is expected to fill the place. The team will convene on Sunday, with some legionnaires like Zehavi and Desa arriving only on Monday.
There is a lot of pressure on the Austrian coach.
