(Reuters) – Ko Jin-young used number one in South Korea a series of late birdies to pull away from the running pack and bid for a five-shot clinical victory at the CME Group Tour Championship at the end of the LPGA in Naples, Florida, on Sunday.

Ko, who started the day one shot back from defending champion and teammate Kim Sei-young, received a six-under-par 66 card that took her to 18 under on a week at Club Golf Tiburon for its first season of pandemic color.

Hannah Green (67) of England and Kim (72) finished in second place, one clear view of America Mina Harigae (68).

Ko shook two of her first six holes and stretched off a bogey at the ninth before moving at the 12th par-three where she eliminated the first of three consecutive birdies to put her lead and then she put two more over her last three holes. .
