The Italian league returns to the pitches: The 17th round opens tonight (Saturday) with three games. At the center, of course, will be AC Milan, who will try to recover from the loss to Juventus against Turin, alongside the meetings between Genoa and Bologna and between Benevento and Atalanta. Here’s what happened tonight in boot country:
Benevento – Atlanta 4: 1
A third consecutive victory for the players of Jan Piero Gasperini, who again received Josip Ilicic in wonderful ability with a goal that broke the dam in the 30th minute. Marco Sao equalized for the home side in the 50th minute, but in the second half the visitors’ blitz began – with a goal by Rafael Tuloy (69), Ilyich’s cooking for Duban Spata (71) and a goal by substitute Luis Muriel who closed out an interest (86). Atalanta enters the top four, temporarily overtaking Juventus who will play tomorrow. Benevento will return to its league when they meet Crotone in the next round.
