The technology for satellite communications networks is reporting another multi-million dollar contract, this time in Mexico, for the purpose of extending cellular coverage to two local operators.

This is a contract with AXESS for projects in the field of cellular transmission (CBH) in Mexico, for the purpose of expanding the network to two of the operators of the main cellular networks in Mexico. Gilat’s satellite satellite transmission solution will enable connectivity to hundreds of sites, in the first phase, and will support the bridging of the digital divide across Mexico.

According to the company’s announcement, Gilat’s SkyEdge II-c platform will be leveraged by AXESS to expand its services. AXESS also provides services to the oil and gas industries, retail, mining, and other organizations.

AXESS Networks offers global coverage satellite communications solutions for companies with critical operations in remote areas. Currently, the company has a presence in more than 50 countries spread across 4 continents, with a staff of more than 200 qualified employees and over 1,000 customers. The company operates three transmission centers in Germany, Mexico and Colombia, and two alternate centers in Peru and Dubai.

Tobias Dzordi, Vice President of the Latin American Region at Gilat: The purpose of the connection is “to provide its CBH solution to strengthen the important network expansion projects in rural Mexico. We are pleased to continue to increase our mobile connectivity presence in Latin America, further providing solutions to organizations and governments in this region.”

About a week and a half ago, the company reported a multi-million dollar contract for the provision of services in the Philippines
