Germany warns: “Iran is playing with fire”

German Foreign Minister Heiko Mas today (Thursday) condemned Iran’s handling of the nuclear issue and said it would jeopardize any possibility of the United States returning to the nuclear deal. This is a public statement by the German authorities alongside the American opposition to Iran.

“The more pressure Iran puts on, the harder it will be to find a political solution to the issue. The talks have become a very complex issue because Iran is clearly not looking for calm in the situation but escalation, and such glorification is a game of fire,” Mas said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said today that the US administration should compensate the Iranian people for the “insane conduct” of the previous administration reiterated that its country would not enter into any negotiations before lifting sanctions on it.

Iran is expected to announce next week the cessation of surprise visits by nuclear energy agency inspectors to its nuclear facilities, due to legislation passed by the Iranian parliament accelerating the breach of the nuclear agreement signed by Iran in 2015.

The legislation, passed by the extremist faction in the Iranian parliament, also restricts its hands to the elected echelon from holding talks on the nuclear issue, but the latest decision on the issue is reserved for Supreme Leader Khamenei.
