“If production goes down, a lot of people will lose their jobs.”
George Clooney can offer his condolences to Tom Cruise. After the Mission: impossible 7 star and co-producer have completely joined the crew members for violating COVID-19 safety guidelines, Clooney has offered the position.
When Clooney was asked about Cruise barking at two members of the crew, “you’re fucking away,” if they got closer than six feet once again, the Eleventh of Ocean a star said he would totally get it.
“He didn’t respond too much because it’s a problem,” Clooney told Howard Stern. “I have a friend who is an AD on another TV show who had almost the same thing happen with a response that wasn’t so far off.”
While Clooney said, “it’s not just my style, you know, to get everyone to work like that,” he thinks the message behind Cruise’s angry rant was very strong.
“I wouldn’t have done it so much. I wouldn’t, you know, have pulled people out,” Clooney said, adding, “I understand why he did it. There’s nothing wrong with that. . You know, I just, I don’t know that I would do it in person, but I do not know what the situation is. “
While it is unclear whether this will be the first time Cruise has seen the two members of the team break at the mandatory six-foot distance between them, Cruise said in his scolding that he was looking out for “the people who are losing their fucking homes because our business has shut down. “
“[Sorry is] not going to put food on their table or pay for their college education, “he said. That’s what I sleep with every night – the future of this fucking business! So sorry, I am beyond your apologies. “
Even if Clooney would have taken a different approach, he agrees with Cruise about the consequences of violating any COVID-19 safety protocol. “You’re in a position of power and it’s sad, right ?,” he explained. “You have a responsibility to everyone else and he’s absolutely right about that. And, you know, if they’re represented down, a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and they have to be accountable. “
Clooney also had a message of his own: “It’s been a shit year and we’ll get through. These vaccines are going to catch up. Enter there, we have another month or two to get through. Don’t stop now, we’re going to get through this thing together, and put on a fucking mask. ”
