Garmin Enduro – a smart fitness watch with an extra long battery life

Garmin announced theGarmin Enduro, The company’s new sports watch that comes with a 1.4-inch screen, an improved and highly accurate triple position tracking system, offering an extra long battery life of up to 65 days in smartwatch mode or an entire year in economy mode thanks to the solar charging built into the watch glass.

The new Enduro watch is specifically designed for outdoor activities and comes with a triple position tracking system built into the watch and supports GPS, GLONASS and Galileo technology. The watch will be available in a steel version that weighs 72 grams or in a titanium version with a lightweight DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating weighing 58 grams, when in both cases the watch will come with a new UltraFit nylon strap.

The watch comes with a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 280 × 280 with the company’s solar glass coating, which allows it to offer extra long operating times, when it comes with water resistance in the 10ATM standard (to a depth of 100 meters). The new watch will come with the ability to track various sports activities, a heart rate monitor, the ability to measure blood oxygen saturation, sleep tracking and in addition support for the GARMIN PAY payment service. Garmin also added to the watch a number of special tracking modes for sports, including: trail running with blood oxygen saturation monitoring and recommendations for adjusting the run accordingly, ClimbPro mode designed for mountain climbers and improved and dedicated tracking for mountain biking.

The Enduro comes with a particularly impressive battery life thanks to the Power Glass, which allows solar charging, with the battery life of the watch ranging from 50 days in smart watch mode to a full year day in saving mode with solar charging, with the full details being:

  • Smart watch mode – up to 50 days / 65 solar days.
  • GPS mode – up to 70 hours / 80 hours solar.
  • Economical GPS mode – up to 200 hours / 300 hours solar.
  • Expedition mode – up to 65 days / 95 solar days.
  • Saving mode – up to 130 days or an entire year with solar charging.

The Garmin Enduro watch will be available for sale in Israel starting on February 25, with the steel version of the watch costing NIS 3,549, while the price of the titanium version will be NIS 3,990.
