One of Samsung’s top mid-range devices in 2020 is undoubtedly the Galaxy A71, but a year has passed and Samsung recently replaced the model mentioned in its successor as it changes its design and specifications, changing its name to the Galaxy A72. The new device comes with IP67 water and dust resistance, an updated photo set and a different design for the photo set.
Design: Galaxy A72 vs. Galaxy A71
In almost every Samsung device we encounter a similar phenomenon, the company replaces the design of the back of the device, with its front remains almost completely the same. The Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A72 are no different, which means that here too we encounter an almost identical front to the previous device in the series, with the back being the one that received a design change that we can immediately notice.
On the front of the Galaxy A71 we can see the end-to-end screen with a camera hole at the top and middle, compared to the Galaxy A72 where it appears from the simulations that Samsung has decided to reduce the camera hole even further to provide more display space. However, the pair of screens are deployed quite similarly, so a change in the edge thickness is not visible this year.

Moving on to the back of the two, here we can immediately notice the major changes, with the Galaxy A71 using a glossy back with a texture that is divided into stripes on the back, compared to the Galaxy A72 which completely changes this in favor of a smooth matte look. The photography layout has also changed significantly, so instead of a black rectangle containing the cameras, we get a rectangle in a color that matches the device, with the cameras represented as black circles on it.
The dimensions of the pair of devices can be found below:

The Galaxy A71’s performance division is based on the Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is manufactured in an 8-nanometer process and includes 8 cores at a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz. Samsung is basing the Galaxy A72 on the Snapdragon 720G chipset, which is also manufactured in an 8-nanometer process but includes 8 cores at a maximum frequency of 2.3 GHz. In practice, these are two fairly similar chip systems, with the same graphics processor and the same manufacturing process.
The entire array of the Galaxy A71 runs on a battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh, with support for fast charging with a power of 25 watts via a USB Type-C connector. On the other hand, the Galaxy A72 comes with a battery with a larger capacity of 5000 mAh, while it also supports fast charging at a power of 25 watts via a USB Type-C connector. However, both devices do not support wireless charging.
