Americans must wear a mask while using any form of public transportation – including buses, trains, taxis, planes, boats, subways or shared vehicles – from late Monday until the release of Covid- 19, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Announced.

The order goes into effect at 11:59 pm ET Monday.

The order, signed by Dr. Martin Cetron, director of the Department of Global Migration and Quarantine, says people must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth while on public transport and while waiting for the tour. The mask must feature at least two layers of breathable fabric and be attached to the head with ties, ear loops or elastic bands.

Masks must respond nicely and should not have exhalation valves or punctures. If someone chooses to wear a gaiter, it must be done with two layers of cloth or folded so that there are two layers. Face shields and goggles can add a mask, but they cannot be worn instead of a mask. Scarves and bandanas do not meet the new requirement.

Children under 2 or people with a disability who cannot wear a mask are cheap.

In the order, issued late Friday, the CDC said it reserves the right to enforce criminal penalties, but “strongly encourages and expects widespread voluntary compliance. ”And expects support from other federal agencies.

The order will continue in effect until further notice.

The move comes after U.S. President Joe Biden signed an enforcement order on Jan. 21 that authorized interstate travelers wear a mask. On his first day in office, Biden challenged Americans to wear a mask for 100 days to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
