Fortnite Operation Snowdown went down at Christmas early this year

All festivals in Fortnite are currently up with this year’s holiday event, Operation Snowdown, going live in the game. There are a lot of new things in the game with this latest update, and a lot of holiday themed features are being redesigned this year.

The event started on the 18th of this month and will last until January 5th. Players who log in before January 5 will receive a free caroling emote.

However, the main scene of this event is the return of planes! Epic had previously launched planes in a Season 7 update back in 2018, as part of a winter-themed update for the game.

This is it the official announcement for the event saying about planes.

“With full battle experience, Snowmando has introduced winter items from the past. Fly in Snowmando’s usual Stormwing X-4 planes, and on the ground, disguise yourself as a normal snowman with Sneaky Snowmandos, inflict cold feet with Chiller Grenades, and give yourself a gift with Snowmando’s wrapped Presents ! ”

But wait! Fortnite Operation Snowdown has so much more to offer!

An interesting addition to this year’s Operation Snowdown event is the snow fish. These snowballs are basically floppers that heal some HP as well as confer special abilities. In a recent video, a Fortnite SypherPK climber showed how to get the snowflakes and how to use them.

With planes returning, Air Royale’s favorite fan has returned to the game as well. In addition to this, there is the new LTM Shockwave. The official statement explains this as “players compete to beat each other to the (extra-strong) Storm while shrinking to nothing“. Plus, Pickaxe Frenzy has hit the LTM form for the first time ever!

Looks like FN just wishes us a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
