After about a year and a half, Hannah Knyazeva Minenko will go to her first competition abroad. The triple jumper will compete in the European Indoor Championships, which will open on March 5 in the city of Torun in Poland, the Athletics Association announced today (Thursday).

In fact, Knyazeva Minenko returns to participate in an international competition for the first time since she was injured in the summer of 2019 at the Israeli Athletics Championships. The athlete signed up for more competitions, but did not go abroad because the government decided to close the airport due to the corona plague.

In recent months the senior triple has jumped back to practice and is in good shape after participating in four local competitions in the country, but she will also of course have to return and participate in higher level competitions abroad in order to achieve the Olympic criterion for Tokyo which stands at 14.32 meters.

Apart from her, at the European Indoor Championships, Salam Bayulin will also compete in the 3,000 meters. Diana Weissman has recently been suffering from a foot load so it was decided not to burden her but to let her rest so that she would not compete in Poland. Weissman is waiting for a busy summer season and she will try to determine the criteria for the Olympic Games to be held in full swing.
