Dr. Orly Greenfeld, the medical director of the Magen Israel program, mentioned in an interview with Kaan B that despite the high rate of vaccinators, care must be taken to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
“The British variant is much more contagious and wherever you keep it – it’s a really fast infection. In every gathering there is a chance of more infection, more patients, more mortality,” said Dr. Greenfeld, adding that it is important to us “At the age of 60. We have not yet reached the maximum level of vaccines, there are many people with risk diseases and background factors who have not been vaccinated, chronic patients, pregnant women with background diseases that are important to be vaccinated.”
Deputy Health Minister Knesset Member Yoav Kish commented on the morbidity data at the GLC this morning, saying that “there is a continuation of a slow downward trend in morbidity. “Yesterday we were at 9.2% verified, today it is 9%.”
He added that “this closure is very much affected by the British mutation, it bothers us – numbers we were used to seeing go down at a much higher rate, go down much slower”.
