Footballers should re-celebrate in celebrations, says medical chief Jonathan Van-Tam | Football

England’s deputy medical officer Jonathan Van-Tam has called on footballers to behave cautiously and stop marking close to each other to keep the Covid-19 release.

Players going through social distance rules have been in the news after a video appeared of teams celebrating in dressing rooms after last weekend’s FA Cup third-round matches.

The Professional Footballers’ Association, Premier League and Football League have written to clubs and players urging them to follow social pace guidelines as Britain continues to tackle a new strain of the virus that is spread quickly.

“We’re in a dangerous place now,” Van-Tam told LBC Radio in response to a question about whether players should chew and kiss each other to mark goals.

“We can’t rest until we have a large vaccine population … all possible close human contact should be avoided as one in three of us will get the disease and have no symptoms. ”

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his Arsenal representative Mikel Arteta are among those who have questioned whether players followed rules related to goal scoring.
