First publication. The current January window appears to be the one that will bring back quite a few legionnaires to Israel, but there will also be those who will do the opposite: Younes Melda, the talented extremist of Maccabi Netanya, has concluded his terms in Belgian Ghent and will take off tomorrow (Wednesday).

Melda himself has not attended Maccabi Netanya training in recent days, and told his friends that he has already undergone a corona examination prior to his trip to Belgium. The amount of transfer that the diamonds will receive will be no small, and will stand at about one and a half million euros.

The 21-year-old Melda began his career as a youth player at Maccabi Tzur Shalom, moved to Hapoel Haifa and came to Maccabi Netanya, where he also played in all three of his seasons as a senior player. The season reached the record amount of conquests for him, seven in just half a season.

Melda is not the first Israeli to play for Ghent – he was preceded by other well-known players, such as Gili Vermot, Rami Gershon, Hatem Abdelhamid and Shlomi Arbeitman.
