Finally: Biden’s dogs entered the White House

After the swearing in of the 46th President of the United States and his entry into the White House, a donor of the first dogs also arrived, who entered the President’s House last night, and they already seem to feel completely at home. The arrival of the dogs, Champ and Major marks the return of a long-standing tradition – members on all fours at the presidential mansion. Outgoing President Donald Trump was the first president since the 1960s not to share the White House with a dog or cat, or any other pet, such as a raccoon held by President Calvin Coolidge in the 1920s. Listen to Biden’s dogs barking in the background:

Major, a German Shepherd-type dog, will be the first rescue dog ever to live in the White House, after being adopted by Biden in 2018 from the Humane Association. Also, according to the Delaware Rescue Center, Major was part of a litter of dogs that came to the association after they were abandoned. Biden’s second dog is Champ, which he bought in 2008 as a gift for his wife, Jill, and got his name from the granddaughter of the incumbent president.

Champ and Major became an integral part of the Biden family and the election of the President-elect. The two dogs appeared all the way on Biden’s social networking pages and even starred alongside him in the campaign videos he edited before he was selected. Now, after four years in which no barking has been heard across the White House, Biden is excited to bring the members on all fours to the presidential residence. Also, before the tenure of former President Donald Trump, President Barack Obama owned two Portuguese water dogs. His predecessor, George W. Bush, was a Scottish Terrier and Bill Clinton was a Golden Retriever named Buddy.
