Final Cut Pro trademark suggestions at a potential membership offer

Apple has changed the Final Cut Pro trademark which indicates that the company is monitoring a membership-based model or add-on in the future.

In particular, Apple has added the Nice Classification 42 list to its trademark for Final Cut Pro in Europe.

The 42 classification, used by platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, includes software-as-a-service (SaaS). It covers “software rental,” which was not part of the original registered trademark back in 2016. The change to the trademark is specific, and notes that change of some sort coming.

Final Cut Pro is currently offered as a one-time purchase software available for a flat fee of $ 300 on the App Store.

At this point, it is unclear whether Apple will do away with the one-time purchase and opt for a membership-based module like Adobe Creative Cloud or Microsoft Office 365. It is possible that any SaaS option for Final Cut Pro offer in addition to the one-time purchase, and may include additional cloud-based features.

Apple patent i saw the listing this week.

Apple has taken steps to expand its service offerings in recent years, launching separate services like Apple Fitness + and Apple TV + and amassing several products in its Apple One subscription.

The company is also looking at new areas in which to expand its services. A report from January suggested that Apple is releasing a paid membership platform for podcast content only.
