Fatal year in the US: The corona peaked in 2020

The mortality rate in the United States increased by 15 percent in 2020, as a result of the corona plague that claimed the lives of 400,000 people during the year, the Center for Contagious Disease Prevention announced today (Thursday).

According to the report, the corona was the third largest cause of death in the country, after heart disease and cancer, bypassing deaths from accidents of various kinds. In all, three million people died in 2020 in the United States.

This is the first time an official body in the United States has acknowledged that the mortality rate of 2020 has increased significantly and the first time the corona plague has been linked to an increase in mortality.

The rise in mortality rates is the largest since 1918, a year in which the United States suffered from the outbreak of Spanish influence and the loss of the American military in World War I.

The full report of the Center for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases has been submitted for internal review and is expected to be officially published later this month, a source in the organization reported to the American news site Politico.

Meanwhile, the immunization rate against the corona in the United States stands at 28.03 percent of the target population and is expected, according to some immunizations, to reach more than a third of the target population in the coming days. This is, numerically speaking, the largest immunization project in the world.
