“Facts in the field”: the huge protest of Hapoel fans

The return of the audience as lightning is on the agenda for a few days, but the road continues to haunt the fans. This morning (Wednesday), the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans’ organization sent a message: If the principal approves the outline of the cabinet, 5,000 fans will come to Bloomfield to demonstrate. “Sports for the masses, not the activists,” the Reds shouted.

“The current stage, which was expected and known to all, is the stage at which we are measured,” the statement said. “While in other countries decision-makers have learned what a simple arithmetic is and the allowable stand occupancy is set in percentages, it seems to us that there are politicians who do not differentiate between Bloomfield Stadium and the community center hall in Ness Ziona. “500 fans in a 30,000-seat football stadium is a bad, sad and unnecessary picture.”

“Such a thing does not serve football and basketball fans at all, and those who will enjoy tickets will be the multitude of associates and activists who fill every corner of Israeli sports,” the Hapoel fans’ organization continued. “As a fan organization that always works for the interests of all fans of the team, and despite the strong desire to return and support the team in its difficult time, we will not do so in an absurd situation where only a small number of fans are allowed to enter the stadium gates.

“It is clear to everyone that the owners of the teams and the Minister of Sports are not at all interested in the well-being of the fans, but a false picture of a ‘return to routine’,” they concluded. “After a year of failed treatment in finding solutions for the sports audience in Israel, we must make sure that the issue does not fall off the agenda and demand a sane and proportionate outline – one that recognizes the reality of the epidemic, but does not underestimate the importance of sports.”

“If the various principals approve the government’s ridiculous pilot, this coming Monday we will all stand outside Bloomfield to push the team and post facts on the ground. A fake picture of 500 artificial people will be answered by 5,000 real sports fans outside.”
