Since last Thursday I have found myself unfavorably in the eye of a media storm, along with a friend and old acquaintance, Adv. Ariel Roth. From then until now, everyone and everyone, everyone who has contact with me and me, has asked for my response. Hour after hour, minute After a minute, I was informed of publications of all kinds about Adv. Ariel Roth, me and my deeds.
It is amazing to see how people rush to judge – and I emphasize to judge – without letting the “defendant (s) express their position and / or arguments. Attorney Ariel Roth was asked to be hanged in the town square here and now. Investigation, suspension from the attorney’s office, and what not?
Like him, I also found myself facing a night of false accusations and many different slanders, all without Shaman Dahou bothering to find out my reaction, before or after he uttered or wrote his words, musings or nonsense and evil spirits. There is hardly a communication program in which I have not been invited to be interviewed. Many good people have offered me their help. Some comforted me. Others encouraged me. Few Santo B. Most of them were intrigued.
So far I have not responded to anyone. Nor to my best and closest friends. I asked for quality time for myself. Like many others, I was amazed at the exposure as it was presented to the public, its intensity and the flood of reports and interpretations that followed.
I tried as much as possible to put my thoughts in order. I recreated the sequence of events, and as in most cases, life is much more complex than black and white. But first some clear facts about a thousand witnesses:
2. Mrs. Orit, who met me and Adv. Roth for a meeting that mostly dealt with the option of importing kosher meat (vagio) to Israel – led us astray in my opinion. Unfortunately, the appearance presented was far from a rainbow of truth.
As a laser-guided bomb, ambiguous words were inserted into the mouth of Adv. Ariel Roth and in retrospect it turns out that there was a great deal of interest in creating the impression that Adv. Ariel Roth was plotting against judges, a judge or Mann Dahua from the justice system.
3. Personally, I had no idea that Mrs. Orit had opened a kind of studio in her home, which she intended to document the entire meeting, all while focusing on a specific goal that has nothing to do with anything meat addict.
Its results show that more than they wanted to make a meat deal with Advocate Roth – put it on the grill, made it the main course on the menu.
Moreover, during the meeting, the hostess repeatedly told how much she wanted to help Netanyahu and among other things told about mutual acquaintances between her and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Advocate Roth would not have bothered to attend the meeting if he had not known in advance that the meeting would mainly deal with the option of importing kosher meat to Israel. In retrospect and with great sorrow it turns out that with great talent, we maneuvered into a media trap called truth and righteousness.
Here are the facts as I know them: A few months ago it became known in the prime minister’s entourage that a family member of one of the judges was speaking out against the prime minister (in random conversations) and attributing public or governmental corruption to him. This story has been known to some of my colleagues in the media for a long time. Rumors have been circulating that there are those who want to record the same family member saying the things attributed to him.
In my personal opinion, to the extent that the same family member says the same things in random or friendly conversations, there is a great deal of flaw in it. In the same way, I think that trying to send to record it is an act that a prime minister and / or those around him are not supposed to do, even if they are convinced that they have been wronged. But from here to determining that a plot or plot has been hatched – the road is very long. No one was asked to plant words in the mouth of one of the judges’ relatives. An attempt can be made (and in all honesty, I do not know who the initiator or sender) to make that relative and / or family member say the same things (attributed to him) again and this time for a recording.
Borders were crossed in the campaign
To my knowledge and to the best of my knowledge, borders have been crossed in the campaign waged by the Prime Minister for his freedom and good name. But just as the claims are heard that the campaign should be conducted within the boundaries of the norm, so the media criticism of it and its environment should be conducted within the boundaries of the norm.
I heard the story as a whole from several sources. Like any media person, I tried to find out how real he was and how close he really was to the prime minister’s entourage. My friend Advocate Ariel Roth told me in one of our conversations about the same gossip, and the option to verify things through a recording. He never confirmed to me that the prime minister or his family and / or any of his people promote the attempt to dub and record judges or any of their family members.
In my conversations with colleagues from the media, the story came up here and there. No one has ever heard from me that Advocate Roth is the one who fabricated the plot, slandered the plot or was entrusted with the subject. Alternatively, I have never heard from him that he was asked to advance such a proceeding. Advocate Roth confirmed to me the existence of a story and event around it.
In retrospect, it became clear to me that we had been given a “Little Red Riding Hood.” While there were those who sought to report the existence of such an “event” (fully legitimate reporting, as long as it reflected the truth and facts as they were), but at the same time insured himself against prosecution and marched on solid ground, Attorney Ariel Roth in all the tools at his disposal – while Mr. Roth did not plot or plot a plot. If, on the contrary.
True, unfortunately Advocate Roth chatted himself to know in order to impress and promote the economic deal that was important to him. He’s been dealing with someone who’s trying to trap him. But to his chagrin and sorrow he realized this after speaking some nonsense and boasting. The truth is much closer to the claim of Advocate Amit Haddad, who argued that Advocate Roth is a man of many rights and that he should have got up and walked the place, and not allowed to maneuver him to the place as if he had concocted a plot.
So what? The cynics will say, did you go for a move that went wrong in the middle and did a U-turn? Then they will say. Also distributed pictures – Mole Sky because I can see near Gideon Saar. It is likely that for every picture of me near Gideon Saar, the prime minister has a thousand such pictures. But no one bothered to check if I had ever worked for Mr. Saar for pay or volunteering (and I am indeed friendly with him), just as none of the Bibiists’ restrained messengers bothered to publish links to articles I published for Netanyahu – even in relation to his trial. No one even bothered to ask whether the same conversation in the prestigious tower at the Herbert Samuel Wharf in Tel Aviv took place before or after the announcement of Saar.
Even the selfish is not without mistakes. I failed at gossip and I regret it and it hurts. As a believing Jew I did and I do mental arithmetic. A person is always close to himself. I considered whether to continue to restrain and let the event pass, or to publish the truth as it is. As a person, I have legitimate political views. Anyone who knows me or follows the lists I publish knows them. I’m not ashamed of them.
From a political point of view, it would have been better for me if I had continued to maintain ambiguity. But in the face of Adv. Ariel Roth’s bloodshed, I have come to the conclusion that it is right to walk with the truth as it is., Out of awareness that there may be those who will try to charge me a price for it. But when I came to the conclusion that this was the right action – I was satisfied with my decision.
Needless to say, Attorney Roth did not ask me either directly or indirectly to unfold the things as written here. He also did not think for a moment (to the best of my knowledge) that I had set a trap for him at that meeting.
I am aware that from the moment the things are published, dozens of questions will be asked and hundreds of opinions will be expressed and dozens of conclusions and / or conspiracies will be drawn. I have no intention of continuing to engage in this matter. As long as I am required to tell the truth and only the truth and the whole truth in places where a law-abiding citizen is required to say – I will do so.
I know that with the publication of things, those who applauded me will be disappointed, and in front of them there will be those who will say “we told you so”. However, a media person should know that just as he writes or demands and / or preaches to others to accept responsibility, so he must act accordingly. I felt it was my human duty, just as it is so human to make a mistake and no less courageous – and mostly true – to admit it. Advertising of such intensity, on any civilian or functionary, armed with full artillery, must rest on solid ground and be accurate.
I must admit that to the best of my knowledge and understanding (and I know quite a bit about this) the full picture is different from the publication as presented, and its form and power are far from the truth. The facts are different from those reflected in the “fact.”
