RESULTS: Eric Bana praises progressive actor Joe Klocek, 25, for his remarkable performance in The Dry playing his character’s younger identity
Hollywood star Eric Bana has worked with the likes of Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman and Rachel McAdams during her successful career.
But an interesting actor in his latest film, The Dry, was actually an Australian actor.
Speaking to the Australian Daily Mail at the premiere of the film in Sydney, Eric Klocek, 25, who was born in Brisbane, praised him for ‘beautiful work’ in murder mystery.

Joe plays a younger version of the film’s main character, Federal Substitute Aaron Falk (played by Eric).
‘Joe did a great job in the film, which I was very pleased with, even in the early cuts we knew Joe had done an amazing job,’ Eric said.
‘It was really good for me, because there is a big part of the story in the past and in the present, so throwing that role was very important. He did an amazing screen test and it was wonderful, he continued.

Eric said: ‘Of course the young actors were great, but I was really pleased with Joe’s throw and I think he’s fascinated by it.’
Joe has been named one of the Australian Casting Association’s 2019 Revolutionary Stars.
He was joined by Sam Corlett (Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), BeBe Bettencourt (Stan’s upcoming Eden), and Claude Scott-Mitchell.
Joe had previously told GQ that although he had not had the opportunity to engage with Eric on screen, he saw him as a ‘mentor’: ‘He was a mentor. I was able to ask him about the US market, how he led his way through getting jobs in Australia and how he started early in his career. ‘

The Dry was filmed over more than 20 regional cities in rural Victoria last year, before a pandemic hit a coronavirus.
Eric’s film adaptation of Jane Harper’s favorite murder mystery was pushed back from the original August release date due to Covid-19.
Jane herself told the Australian Daily Mail at the Sydney premiere in December that the creative team had exceeded her expectations with the film.
The theaters hit dry on January 1, 2021
