UNIT IN RULE ROOM FOR BAYERN STAR
While Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer noted that January’s transfer window will be silent, it is reported that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is proposing otherwise.
The Red Devils are said to be looking to strengthen their intentions in four positions under Woodward’s long-term plan to help the side find more consistency.
David Alaba is reportedly one of the players in their scenes.
German Revolution Bild reports that United have entered the race for the Bayern Munich star but are not alone.
Manchester City, PSG, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are reportedly interested in his services.
Alaba has flexibility on his side, able to play in midfield, left back and midfield.
Solskjaer had hoped to sign a center-back in last summer’s transfer window but was unable to do so, meaning Alaba could be a solid choice if he chooses to reconsider that desire.
Bild reports that Alaba wants £ 350,000-a-week ($ A630,000) per week.
CHELSEA’S DECISION IN A CASE FOR RICE
Chelsea have long been linked with West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, but could face competition.
Manchester United are expected to challenge the Blues for the 21-year-old according to the Daily Express.
The report states that United’s Solskjaer is a fan of Rice’s and desperate to attract him to the Red Devils.
Rice was linked with Chelsea last summer but no deal has been made with Rice staying at West Ham, where he has been instrumental in their success after their success. play every minute of their PL campaign.
Rice was named West Ham Player of the Year last season.
Frank Lampard would be optimistic about landing Rice as the 21-year-old began his career at Chelsea’s youth academy.
The Blues boss has said he does not regret letting Rice go.
“He’s a great player for West Ham and England as fair, because his trip there after leaving Chelsea and going to West Ham is a good story to hear,” he said.
“There are a lot of stories like that and it shows the strength of the player’s character. As for our ending, of course I would not use the word ‘regret’ – our academy is one of the best in the world and you will now look at our first team with the players we made who are around and around that squad. ”
With their recent spending spree, Chelsea could claim a squad stronger than United.
Rice is currently signed until 2024 and West Ham want to expand on a new contract that could make him the highest paid player at the club.
He is in no hurry to make any assurances however on either end.
VIEW OF ARSENAL RESULTS TO GET … FOR NOW
In other news, substitute Mesut Ozil has confirmed when the best star is likely to leave the Gunners.
Ozil has been frozen out of the Arsenal line despite being on a massive £ 350,000 ($ A630,000) weekly contract and last played in March.
Fenerbahce’s Super League side were linked with Ozil and club conference Murat Zorlu told Sport Digitale he expected Ozil to sign next month.
But Ozil’s agent has fired on any chance of that happening, instead he said Ozil will leave on June 30, 2021 – when his contract expires.
“I would like to state clearly our position on Fenerbahçe. Yes, we had meetings with Fenerbahçe. We had a one-on-one conversation with the most authorized people in the club, ”Erkut Sogut told Fanatik.
“However, we cannot know until January for official transfer talks. We received transfer offers for Mesut from all over the world.
“Fenerbahce is also interested.
“Nothing has changed for Mesut at the moment. In those circumstances, Mesut is likely to end the season at Arsenal. ”
WOLVES EYE LIVERPOOL STRIKER
Meanwhile, Wolves are looking to catch Divock Origi of Liverpool in the January transfer window.
He arrives as they look to find another man for Raul Jiminez, who has been missing with a long-term injury.
Jiminez is expected to miss the entire season with a broken skull suffering against Arsenal and Wolves are scrambling to fill.
Now the Reds striker is in their sights as he reduces it to occasional substitute appearances.
He has played just two games off the bench this season for seven minutes of action while also making three Champions League starts.
Origi has signed an extension to keep him at Liverpool until 2024 although Wolves are looking to take him on loan instead of buying him on a permanent move.
Liverpool have suffered a number of injuries this year so they would like maximum depth.
But at least Origi could benefit from more game time at the Wolves and return to Anfield as a better player for him.
