Enve is now using the manufacturing experience to make road bikes. The Utah-based company best known for its carbon wheels now offers a carbon road bike frame called Enve Custom Road, which is made in the United States and only available to U.S. customers.
In addition to carbon construction, the Custom Road features aerodynamic design, integrated components, and cleaning for 35mm tires. Enve says customisability is at the heart of the product, with the brand offering 38 color options and four design templates. Cyclists can also select parts through a web-based Bike Builder app.
Geometry on Custom Road is offered in two versions, Race and All Road. In the geometry of the race there is a shorter wheel for a snap, stiff machine. All Road geometry features a longer wheelbase for greater durability. With a license for 35mm tires on both versions, Enve says the bike can handle mixed surface events like the Belgian Waffle Ride.
The bike uses Enve’s SES AR integrated one-piece bar and gas, which hides all cables and hoses for a more aero cockpit. The gas is available in sizes from 90 to 130mm in 5mm increments, and the bars are available in sizes ranging from 38-46cm. Frame sizes range from 47-63cm.
Enve partnered with Chris King to create a fitness headset for the bike, called the AeroSet. Brake and moving lines will be inserted through the mast and into the mast, between the 1.5-inch carrying headset and the standard 1.125-inch steerer.
Cyclists buying a complete bike can choose between SRAM Red, SRAM Force AXS, Shimano Dura-Ace, or Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivers and disc brakes. Power meters are also available at an additional cost. There are also high costs based on what paint riders choose.
Cyclists who choose a frame can purchase what Enve calls the Chassis, which includes the frame, fork, headset, seat crane topper, combo bar / stem, and the standard Scicon Travel Case Aerocomfort 3.0 TSA. If riders choose to put on an Enve SES or Foundation wheelbarrow, Rolling Chassis will be an option.
To purchase Custom Road, buyers must make a $ 250 investment on the Enve website. After verifying the construction, geometry, and paint equipment, the buyer then makes a 50 percent investment, to which the previously paid $ 250 is applied.
