Elbit will sell unmanned vessels to a country in Asia

Elbit Systems has announced that it has won a contract for the supply of unmanned vessels (“GSM”) of the Seagull type עבור️ for a country-navy in the Asia-Pacific country. Seagull CCTV systems in a configuration that is specific to performing tasks to neutralize naval mines, and allows the option to add technological modules required to perform submarine warfare (“NCL”).

The Seagull UAVs to be supplied will be equipped with side-by-side sonar scanners and forward-looking vehicles as well as remotely operated vehicles for the detection and destruction of mines. When the Seagull waters will allow the client’s navy to carry out comprehensive mine neutralization activities while dealing with mines at the seabed, floating mines, and anchored mines.

While the Seagull allows for continuous stay at sea for four days, performing naval missions up to sea level five as well as the flexibility to control multiple vessels from the same mission management system. Elad Aaronson, CEO of Intelligence at Elbit Systems, noted: Necessary autonomous capabilities to perform a variety of naval tasks, especially to neutralize mines and the like. “Since Seagull has demonstrated its ability to perform these missions since 2017, it provides the Navy with higher mission effectiveness, risk reduction and better cost-effectiveness.”
