Announced a $ 172 million contract with a country in the Asia-Pacific region. Elbit will, as a contractor, supply light tank chiefs to the land army of that country for a period of three years.

The tanks to be delivered to the customer are of the “Sabra” type and are based on the ASCOD caterpillar platform manufactured by the Spanish company General Dynamics, as well as on the Pandur II 8X8 caster platform of the Czech company Excalibur Aramaic.

These are tanks weighing 30 tons that are characterized by a combination of fire capacity and high maneuverability. The tank turret will be equipped with Elbit subsystems, including electro-optical sights, fire control systems, TORCH-XTM battle management systems, E-LynXTM software radio systems and life support systems.
