Ebola toll hits four in DR Congo, World News

Four people have died from Ebola in the latest uprising in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Officials say people have been opposing measures to contain the disease, so the number has gone up.

Since the recurrence of epilepsy this month, DR Congo has recorded six Ebola cases. Of these, four have lost their lives.

The Ebola virus is transmitted to humans through infected animals. Human transmission through body fluids with the main symptoms such as fever, vomiting, bloating and diarrhea.

One died on Friday and another on Saturday, while the other two died earlier this month. Two patients are being cared for at an Ebola treatment center in Katwa.

Officials have complained that local residents were not taking the uprising freshly enough.

As in a previous revolution, the population of the region refuses to believe in the presence of the Ebola virus and rejects measures aimed at investigating the spread of the virus, such as avoiding rubbing on sick people or not washing up the infected dead.

The tenth disease, announced on August 1, 2018, was eradicated on June 25 last year due to riots caused by armed groups and the public against measures against Ebola.

With more than 2,200 deaths recorded, these are thought to be the worst in the history of Ebola in the DRC since it appeared in 1976.

Ebola has also re-emerged in Guinea, where it has already killed five people.
