Durant comes up short on triple-doubles again

Kevin Durant is experiencing some cold weather from a late long range. After firing 69.2% from a 3-point area through the first three games of the Nets ’career, knocking out nine of his 13 attempts, Durant’s stroke hadn’t been what it had been since he took a Brooklyn game against Memphis Grizzlies off.

After going 2-for-6 from a 3-point area in the Nets win over the Hawks, Durant went 2-for-7 from depth in Brooklyn’s last two losses. Over the past three games, the forward star has shot 30% from depth.

Still, Durant shoots 50% off the floor overall in that range and averages 29.7 points per game, which is a second above his quarter average of 28.2 points per game.

Another recent change for Durant is his rebounding, though that goes the other way for his 3-point shooting. Durant has averaged 10 rebounds per night over the last three games, capturing 11 boards twice in the process – almost a triple log in those two situations, since short when he sent out seven assists and scored 28 points in the 123-122 loss to the Washington Wizards.

Durant and the Nets will return to work Tuesday when they host the Utah Jazz.
