Drymond Green: “I’m the best defensive player ever”

Beginning of an article

When NBA fans get into an argument “Who is the best defensive player in league history?” There are always a few names coming up – from Gary Peyton, through Bill Russell to Scotty Pippin.

All the names up here did not prevent From Raymond Green To claim tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday) that he is actually the best defensive player of all time: “I think I am the best defender who has ever played the game. I am 100% sure of that, I see the game differently from the rest. When trying to measure the quality of “Defenders look at reaction time, toughness, ability to read a game and take a rebound. I do all of these things excellently, so I think I’m the best defender I’ve ever played in the league. I believe in that.”

Of course the reactions to the Warriors player’s statement were not long in coming. Chris Weber, Who now works for “TNT”, and previously also played in the Golden State uniform said: “Anyone who agrees with this statement is completely crazy and does not understand anything in basketball.”

Also a former player, Tony Allen, Did not remain indifferent and got into a sarcastic confrontation with Green on Twitter. “Who made you the best defender ever?” Tweeted Allen. The colorful forward of the Golden State did not hesitate and responded straight: “I was waiting for you to crown me in 2015, but instead we preferred to use you against your team, on the way to my first championship.”

Drymond talks about the Golden State series against Memphis in the Western Conference semifinals in 2015, where the Warriors let Tony Allen throw and throw, while suffering from extremely low shooting percentages.

Despite the storm it provoked, it is likely that Green’s opinion will not change. This is of course not the first (or last) statement of the player, who has made waves across the NBA, and we only have to wait for the next time.
