White House coronavirus coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx says there were ‘parallel’ datasets on the pandemic from another source within the White House and ‘graphs on display’ that she never did.
Birx made the claims in an interview with CBS News’ Face the Nation on Sunday in which she also claimed that some members of the Trump Administration thought COVID-19 was a ‘hoax’.
‘I saw the president show graphs that I never did,’ Birx said in the interview. ‘So I know that someone – or someone out there or someone inside was creating a parallel data set and graphics that was shown to the president.’
‘I know what I put up with and I know what the hands were different from that,’ the doctor continued.

White House coronavirus coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx says the pandemic had ‘parallel’ datasets from another source inside the White House and was ‘displaying graphs’ she had never made

Birx and Donald Trump at a White House press conference in March. Birx, who coordinated the White House coronavirus action coordinator under Trump, told CBS Face the Nation she asked herself every morning and night if she could make a difference in dealing with it. the pandemic.

Birx said she did not know at the time who exactly was bringing the parallel data to the president, but on reflection, she says she thought Scott Atlas may have played a part.
Atlas, a physician with no previous knowledge of infectious disease who became Trump’s coronavirus consultant, often criticized scientists for scattered mitigation efforts – including mascara consumption and social distance advice .
‘I don’t know who else was part of it, but I think when the record goes back and people see what I was writing every day that was put up to the leadership of the White House, that see those – that I was very particular about what I was seeing and what needed to be done, ‘she said.
Dr. Birx said she took ‘broad notes’ from every White House meeting, and wrote more than 310 daily reports that she sent to senior executives.
When questioned by CBS as to whether Trump read her reports, she said she wasn’t sure, because ‘I didn’t know much about President Trump. ‘
Birx said there were people within the Trump administration who ‘certainly believed’ that the virus was a hoax.
‘I think the information was confusing at first. I think since we didn’t talk about the spectrum of the disease, everyone was explaining what they knew. ‘

More than 25 million Americans have been infected with the coronavirus and at least 417,000 have died since March 2020, when the pandemic began.
Birx said she was regularly considering resigning from the White House coronavirus action group and was reprimanded by the Trump administration, but denied that he ever kept information about the virus.
‘When you have a pandemic where you have every American to change their behavior, communication is absolutely important,’ she said.
‘Every time a statement was made by a political leader that did not meet the public health needs, that erased our response. I also went out on the road, because I was not censored on the road. ‘

Birx said she was regularly considering resigning from the White House coronavirus action group and was cracked down by the Trump administration, but denied that he ever kept information about the virus.

Birx, who announced his resignation as President Joe Biden last week, said there were people within the Trump administration who ‘definitely believed’ the virus the lure
Birx said she was increasingly concerned about Trump’s pandemic strategy, especially in the run-up to the election.
‘I had to ask myself every morning, “Is there anything that I think I can do that would be helpful in responding to this pandemic?” And it is something which I called myself every night. ‘
‘When it became a point where I could – I wasn’t getting anywhere and that was right before the election, I wrote a very detailed communication plan of what had to happen the day after the election and how that had to be executed, ‘she told CBS.
‘And many were promising that this would happen. ‘
Birx announced in December that she would be ‘resigning’ when President Joe Biden took office after a backlash after breaking her own coronavirus safety guidelines to mark Thanksgiving Day with the family near.
Birx flew out of the state to Delaware for the weekend while the CDC urged Americans not to travel for the holidays.
A health official addressed the scandal saying it had a devastating effect on her family and said she would retire ‘within the next four to six weeks’ from the CDC.
‘This experience has been a bit awful,’ she said. ‘It’s been very sad for my family.’

‘I saw the president show graphs that I never did,’ Birx said in the interview. ‘So I know that someone – or someone out there or someone inside was creating a parallel data set and graphics that was shown to the president. ‘
Birx was U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator for both President Barack Obama and Trump before being appointed to a coronavirus action group in March assuming the public role as one of the nation’s top physicians in the United States. her fight against pandemic.
During her time in office, she came on fire from all sides.
In August, Trump called Birx ‘patient’ when he warned Americans that the pandemic is ‘extremely widespread’ in the US.
Meanwhile, House Speaker and Democrat Nancy Pelosi once said she was ‘the worst’.
Birx had hoped to get a job under Biden ‘s administration.
Sources said in December that she reached out to Biden’s advisors to make the case for a role in his coronavirus response effort.
But it has not yet been accepted for an order and the new White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said ‘that’s a great question’ on Friday when asked if Birx was still on the White House ‘s COVID-19 response team.
Birx’s interview makes thin swipes on her former boss coming days after Dr. Anthony Fauci was also targeting Trump Thursday – the day after Biden took office – as the nation’s top doctors finally spoke out about what life was like in Trump’s White House.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has made it clear that he is happy to work for President Joe Biden
Fauci appeared in the White House press briefing room Thursday for the first time since last spring as he took over as Biden’s chief medical advisor and a member of the COVID-19 response team.
He talked about the differences in working life in the Biden administration compared to the Trump administration.
One of the new things in this administration is: if you don’t know the answer, don’t guess. Just say you don’t know the answer, ‘he said.
‘One of the things that was very clear about recently about 15 minutes ago, when I was with the president, is that one of the things that we’re going to do is be completely transparent, open and honest if things go wrong.
‘Not to point fingers but to correct them and do everything we do based on science and evidence.
‘I mean that was a conversation I had 15 minutes ago with the president, and he has said that many times,’ he noted.
