The women’s basketball team of Maccabi Phoenix Haifa tonight (Monday) defeated the girls Herzliya 80:82 in an away game, in a single game that locked the 6th round of the Athena Winner women’s basketball league. The big winner of the game was Courtney Douglas from Haifa who finished with 31 points, an index of 29 and important points in Money Time.
This time too, Haifa played with only one foreigner, Tiana Moldero. Haifa trailed by 46:36 in the half, but despite that they managed to end the third quarter with a 61:64 advantage thanks to 24 points from Douglas.
In the last quarter, Haifa took a 61:69 advantage, but Hadar Hadad of Herzliya equalized to 76:76, three minutes and a quarter to go. After that, Douglas raised Haifa to 76:78 and continued with two successful free throws to 76:80 two minutes and a quarter to go. From here, Nofar Shalom shrank to 80:78 and McCauley to 82:80 with the last 38 seconds left that were not enough for Herzliya.
