The chase continued. Juventus defeated Lazio 1: 3 tonight (Saturday) and narrowed the gap from Inter at the top to 7 points, with both playing the same game (25). Earlier, Udinese beat Sesuolo 0: 2, and Spezia and Benevento finished 1: 1.
Juventus – Lazio 1: 3
The fateful week of the old lady opened on the right foot. After the victory over Spezia and before the rematch against Porto in the last eight of the Champions League, Juventus jumped over a not-so-simple minefield and narrowed the gap from Inter in first place to 7 points ahead of the decisive stages of the season.
Coach Andrea Pirlo chose to give Cristiano Ronaldo a rest and saw Joaquin Correa give the visitors the lead in the 14th minute. Even before the half, Adrian Ravio took advantage of an inbound delivery from Albero Murata and picked up the net of Pepe Reina (39).
In the second half, the Spanish striker himself turned the score around. First of all he took advantage of Federico Keiza’s cooking and finished bursting excellently (57), before completing a double three minutes later with a successful penalty. Ronaldo himself came off the bench in the 70th minute. Lazio remained in seventh place, 6 points away from fourth place leading to the Champions League.
