Am Mandalorian
Disney
It’s been a weird year for Disney Plus, the streaming service from the largest entertainment giant on earth. For such a large company, it has been strange for me to use its streaming service only twice last year, once for season 1 of the Mandalorian, and then again for season 2 of the Mandalorian.
But that’s about to change, and I think the narrative is going to be turned on its head, judging by how the Mandalorian itself has taken over the whole pop culture conversation when who hears it.
Disney has two things going for it that allow it to stifle debate about what Netflix has to offer in a sprawling, year-round blanket. While the service has so far been relatively thirsty for non – child programs, it will not last long. As the pandemic escalates, their slate of promised Marvel and Star Wars shows will be released, and they have announced that tunna more shows than we knew about before. Something like the 11 Star Wars series and the 10 Marvel series when you put them all up.
These two objects are connected spheres in themselves. Everything that happens in the Disney Star Wars show is going to be a cannon in the new era, which is pretty big for superfans, as we’ve seen with every twist and turn of the Mandalorian meet with wide eyes. The same thing is happening for Marvel where under the new Disney TV plan, these shows will be fully integrated into the MCU, far in addition to the “technical” MCU shows like Agents of SHIELD. never Daredevil or The Punisher. Developments in WandaVision, for example, should lead directly into things in the next Spider-Man or Dr. Strange.

Combine these two mega worlds with Disney ‘s latest weapon over Netflix, its release album, which is in weekly titles instead of binge knobs.
It is very likely that, within a year or two, 52 weeks of the year would see the broadcast of some Marvel or Star Wars series on weekdays, if not more than one at a time. So there shouldn’t be a week when there are fans No talking about a new development in the Star Wars or MCU canon.
No, I don’t think all of these shows will be amazing. That is impossible, and there is no doubt that there will be duds. Not everything can be Mandalorian unless Disney hits Jon Favreau a few times. But I see how planting the airwaves with tons of this content could be a threat to the oxygen of some Netflix productions that are strained over a weekend and thrown away until 51 weeks later sin. Not to say that Netflix shows won’t make an impact, they do. But we are entering a time when Disney will be able to unleash new plot developments in the two largest pop culture worlds that exist every week, all year round. And that is the position of power.
This will not seriously build maybe half way through 2021, but after that? It’s going from trout to flood very fast. Just wait.
