Dimitar Berbatov believes Robert Lewandowski should be crowned man of the year ahead of FIFA’s annual ‘Best Awards’.
Berbatov says it would be unfair for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the award as they do not ‘deserve’ to be among the finalists.
The former Manchester United striker believes Lewandowski should have won the Ballon d’Or and says the FIFA title will be a ‘compensation’ for such a disappointment.

Lewandowski is the favorite to pick up the award after scoring 15 goals and scoring six assists to help Bayern Munich regain Champions League glory back in August, but Berbatov worries he could still to despise him.
Berbatov says Lewandowski may be missing out on the award for ‘business’ reasons behind the scenes.
The Bulgarian told Betfair: ‘I’m amazed that Ronaldo and Messi are among the finalists for the Best Fifa award because I’m not sure they deserved it.

‘I think they should give it to Robert Lewandowski. I think he deserves it. I’m not so sure who else should be there.
People are always arguing and arguing about who should be there. It’s all three players and I think Lewandowski deserves the award. It would be unfair if he did not win.
‘I think it was unfair that the Gold Ball didn’t happen this year as it is my favorite and a lot of people. I think he should get that award and I hope this will be compensation.
