The scam works in a similar way to what we have already learned:

• Request to click on a link and / or download files or applications
• Request to distribute the message to friends and groups on WhatsApp so you can win

The link sent as part of the fraud attempt shows the name of Samsung and the company’s website, but as you can see in the link sent in one of the groups in Israel, it is a link between him and Samsung that is far from the connection between Raven and wireless headphones.

A warning was issued by Samsung Israel stating unequivocally that this is not an activity organized by the company, and according to the company’s announcement:

The message sent to WhatsApp users, whether individuals or groups, includes several steps, when after clicking the link you will start the process that will ask you to try and win a particularly equal prize – the new Galaxy S21 Ultra, by downloading software to your device and running for a certain time, and requesting to share the original message with 5 groups or 20 WhatsApp contacts.

The ESET company reported:

A test we conducted shows that at the end of the activity, the participant is asked to download a file and run it. The same file may allow the attacker to remotely access the device, leak sensitive data and also allow access to another malicious code device. Simply put, it means a foreigner’s access to your device and its contents.
