In the video above: A summary of the Lakers’ victory over Houston

After the two early games that ended last night (Sunday), during the early hours of the morning five more NBA games were played in which we got some one-sided fights and also one thriller. The Los Angeles Lakers champions had no trouble against Houston, Golden State scraped a win over Toronto and Kevin Durant’s Brooklyn suffered a loss against Oklahoma City. Both Denver (over New York) and Minnesota (over San Antonio) achieved victories. Everything down here:

Houston (5: 3) – Los Angeles Lakers (3: 8) 120: 102
The team from LA continues to dominate the top of the Western Conference table and the rival from Texas has not made life too difficult for her. Already in the first quarter the visitors came to a 12-point advantage, which admittedly shrank back to just one point, but later the Lakers cruised with a high double-digit gap throughout the second half (the record difference was 27). Anthony Davis stood out with 27 points, LeBron James scored 18 and also contributed 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Christian Wood finished with 23 for the Rockets, James Harden scored 20 alongside 9 assists.

Golden State (4: 6) – Toronto (7: 2) 105: 106
The tight and suspenseful game of the night. Despite the weak shooting evening in Steph Kerry’s career (2 of 16 from the field, 1 of 10 from three), the Warriors scraped the win in the 2019 final rematch. And turned with an 8:29 run towards the end minutes. Then, I imagined Lee Dyke twice from the line in the final seconds and Pascal Siakam (25 points) missed on the buzzer. Andrew Wiggins was the winner’s leading scorer with 17.

Brooklyn (6: 5) – Oklahoma City (4: 5) 129: 116
Kevin Durant went back to the floor and scored 36 points against the ex, and that was not enough. Despite a wonderful first quarter by the locals with 29:41, the Thunder managed to turn around and create for themselves a promising difference and the last quarter was almost entirely Garbage Time. Shay Gilges Alexander excelled with 31 points for OKC, which recorded its third straight win.

Minnesota (7: 3) – San Antonio (5: 5) 88:96
The Timberwolves, who are in last place in the Western table, interrupted their losing streak against Greg Popovich’s team, who came up with an excellent momentum of three consecutive victories on the other side. The advantage moved from side to side quite a bit, and in the last quarter the host pressed the pedal and secured the victory. DiAngelo Russell (27) and Malik Beasley (24) impressed in the winning ranks, Lonnie Walker (25) and Marcus Aldridge (20) stood out.

New York (5: 5) – Denver (5: 5) 114: 89
Although both teams now have the same balance, it was the most one-sided battle of all the night games. Already in the second quarter, the high double-digit gap was created in favor of the Nuggets, which was maintained until the end (and even reached 30). Nikola Jokic finished a solid evening for him with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Julius Randall scored 29 on the other side.
