CHICAGO (CBS) – The DePaul Blue Demons men’s basketball team hopes to start their season on Wednesday.
They had to cancel or postpone the first 10 games of the season due to COVID-19 concerns.
Coach Dave Leitao thought he only had six practices with his entire team on the floor, and yet, not everyone will be available for the game against Western Illinois.
“I think anyone would ask the question, like I was asking myself, what are you like to be, you know, because you’ve been so big habits and that you have waited as long as everyone else has got games under their belt. It’s going to be fun to get out of there, and we’ll see what we look like. Of course, we may not be doing our best, ”said Leitao. “My biggest concern is with the well-being of everyone, especially our children – where they have their place of thought, and the challenges that come with all that they are. has been through. ”
DePaul is still hoping to play 25 games, but baby steps – hopefully they can play their first one on Wednesday.
