Dele Alli ‘proud’ son after acknowledging Tottenham team-mate has been through a ‘hard time’

The England international was in the middle of the week in the Europa League after leaving north London this winter

Tottenham star Son Heung-Min has confirmed he is delighted to see Dele Alli back in action after months of freezing out of the first team.

Alli had fallen out of Jose Mourinho’s plans and was even close to leaving the club in the January transfer window.

But the midfielder has now pushed himself back into controversy, to the delight of his teammate.

What was said?

“I am always happy to play with any players. It is a pleasure to go out to the park and play football,” the South Korean international explained to Amas after Tottenham beat Burnley 4-0 on Sunday.

“I’ve been with Dele for a long time, and he’s had a hard time lately, but I’m proud of his achievement.

“I get together [Gareth] Bale and it’s good to have a good performance with him. Today all the players tried their best and worked hard, so the players played happily. “

Alli Road to get past

Long regarded as almost an automatic name on the Tottenham team page, Alli saw his stock fall sharply after Mauricio Pochettino replaced Mourinho.

The playmaker failed to start the Premier League in the 2020-21 season, with his sporadic appearance largely limited to the Europa League and domestic cup competition.

Pochettino remains a fan, however, and pushed hard to end a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain in January that ultimately failed.

In the last few weeks, it looks like Alli ‘s fortunes may be changing.

The England international posted an outstanding performance in Thursday’s Europa League win over Wolfsberger, scoring a goal and two assists in the Spurs ’4-0 win over the Austrians.

That format has been put in line to play a bigger part in Mourinho’s plans, although he was limited to a 25-minute cameo off the bench against Burnley with his team already four well-scored goals. .
