Degree in danger? PSG lost 2: 0 to Monaco

Beginning of an article

The French league on the way to a shift change? After years in which the Parisians have ruled unchallenged, it seems that the 2020/2021 season invites us to unexpected changes. PSG apparently had its head in the celebrations from the Camp Nou and lost tonight (Sunday) 2: 0 to Monaco at home, dropped to third place in the table and is now four points from a night at the top. The leader defeated Lorraine 1: 4, Montpellier defeated Ran 1: 2.

PSG – Monaco 2: 0
After the euphoria in the last eight of the Champions League, PSG returned to the local arena and hosted Monaco at the Parc de France. The champion did not mention the team we saw last Tuesday at Camp Nou and had a very hard time creating situations against Nico Kovacs’ team.

Already in the sixth minute the guest stunned the Parisians. Sufian Diop scored with a shot after a measured raise from Ruben Aguilar. The single-digit advantage held until the start of the second half, when Gizermo from Arifen scored while with a wonderful touch with a flat kick from an extension and set up the game result, 0: 2 to Monaco.

This is the champion’s sixth loss of the season – its most in the Qatari era. Even in the loss of the championships to Montpellier (2012) and Monaco (2017) lost less. On the other hand, Kovacs’ trainees remain in fourth place, but cling to the top. The victory over Paris puts her with 52 points, just two points from the champion who is already third and six points from the night of the leader.

Lorraine – Night 4: 1
The lead came back to itself after the stumble last week. The goal celebration opened in the 21st minute with Andrew Gravillon’s own goal. The hosts managed to equalize after two minutes with a powerful kick from the regular Jerome but Lille took the lead well in the 38th minute with a kick from outside the box by Jose Ponte. Jonathan Ikona (59) scored the third with a fine free kick and Domagoi Bradrich closed the story in extra time. Christoph Galattia’s side will try to keep the gap from PSG when they meet Strasbourg next week.

Montpellier – Run 1: 2
The host achieved a third consecutive victory, and although it is still in ninth place, it came even closer to the battle for Europe. For Julian Stefan’s side this is the fifth game in a row without a win in the league, and now it too has 38 points.

Steffi from my friend, the 22-year-old Englishman, was the winner of the winner with a personal double in the 17th and 27th minutes. Tezi Sabaniya had a chance in the 51st minute to increase the advantage even more with a penalty, but he missed, and in the 78th minute the guest shrank from the legs of Cerro Girassi.
