In an unconventional lawsuit, Betar Jerusalem’s stopper, Uriel Degani, filed a defamation lawsuit against Idan Weizmann yesterday (Wednesday) for a total of NIS 140,000. In the lawsuit, which was filed in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court through attorney Roi Rosen, Degani claims that Weizmann, who currently plays for Tiberias and previously played in the national league, posted a tweet on November 18, 2020, a day after the Israeli team’s game against Scotland in the League of Nations. In which he committed a foul before the end of the game.

The tweet in question read: “Forgive me, but … this is an offense at the level of Israel Cohen in a derby.”

Degani claims that the very comparison with the Israel Cohen affair is a violation of him in a lie that constitutes an inconceivable violation of Degani’s good name. Betar Jerusalem’s brake also claims that this Weizmann tweet actually violates Degani’s moral purity and credibility.
